Homemade Bagels

January 4, 2009

I’ve been at home for over two weeks now and have done quite a bit of cooking but am apparently too lazy to have posted anything until now. Plus, I got a new camera for Christmas so I can now take pictures that actually make food look appetizing.

Today my sister and I decided to try and make homemade bagels. I had found a recipe on a blog, and we adapted it to use half whole wheat pastry flour and half bread flour. The entire process took a while to complete, but these are totally worth it and it was fun to try them out. We ended up making some plain, sesame, poppy seed, and two were everything bagels that we threw a bunch of different seasonings on. Any excuse to slather on some Tofutti Better-Than-Cream-Cheese!
