Unfortunately, I also lost my camera on the tale end of this trip. I feel like I’ve lost an arm or something. Every time I see something to photograph, I get a little bit sadder knowing that it’s lost in Panama forever.

Luckily, my birthday (the big 2-1!!!) is coming up in a few weeks, so I’m asking for a new camera from my parents. I’m thinking it’s time to upgrade, but I would like to hear what people recommend. Is a Canon Rebel the way to go? I’d love to hear from some of you wonderful photographers!

I’m so sorry about your camera–but yeah, I always hear amazing things about the Canon Rebel from my friends in the photography department here. (I’m not much of a camera snob, but they are, so I trust their judgment.)

i’m so happy you had such a delightful trip! sounds like it was the ultimate refresher. sorry about the camera though! :( i’d be out of my minndddd.
personally i’m a little intimidated by fancy cameras (this is going to have to change soon, as I declared a Photography major this semester LOL) – I use a lil’ Coolpix point and shoot from Costco. whatever you feel comfortable with – i have heard great things about the Rebel, though.

Sorry to hear you lost your camera! I’ve heard great things about the Rebel too, if I were getting a new one it’s definitely what I’d choose!
