one short night

January 6, 2011

no visit back to Vermont is complete without seeing Grace Potter & the Nocturnals in concert.  I’ve seen them, like, 10 times now, I think.  they can really only be described as amazing Vermont rock and are the best band that I’ve ever seen live. and if you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you’d know that I go to plenty of good shows and festivals.

their show at Higher Ground in South Burlington on January 1st was no exception.  they put everything they had into the sold-out show, including an awesome laser show and 2+ hours of non-stop music.  if you like good guitar, a girl who can really sing, and a dedicated fan base, then I highly recommend giving them a listen.

this year has been super exciting for them, too.  they appeared on VH1’s Diva tour, Letterman, and their single Paris (Ooh La La) has been in a whole slew of commercials.  I’ve even heard their songs on the Keeping Up with the Kardashians soundtrack.  it’s really amazing to watch a band rise from the back country of Vermont to national success.
