today I made the long journey from Pittsburgh to Burlington, Vermont.  I’ve made this journey over a dozen times during the past 4 years, but I still get giddy whenever I see the sprawling strip malls and parking lots turn into the checkered pastures and green mountains that I love so much.

doesn’t Vermont look wonderful?  it was 75* and sunny – perfect.

as familiar and nice as this view is, I’ve seen some other pretty amazing views from the sky.  I flew over twinkling Ireland at night and I’ve seen the Swiss Alps sparkle in the morning sun.  I love watching the sun set over the Lincoln Memorial.

which would you prefer – seeing home on the horizon after a long time away, or a really lovely and famous view?

Home, hands down. I love New York, but coming home is always the best feeling…there’s nothing like quiet in the house you grew up in :)
