this is England [via my iPhone]

November 7, 2011

my time in the UK was much too short.  England is a wonderful modern city with lots of traditional elements still front and center.  I actually stayed in Cambridge with a distant relative (5th cousin?), and I spent most of my time there swooning over the clean cut Cambridge boys wearing their ties and sweaters with wrinkled trousers.  in London, I hit all of the major (and free!) art museums and spent a lot of time wandering around department stores filled with wares I can only dream about as a poor student.  Liberty and Harrods were both fully decked out in their holiday splendor, and seeing the city all lit up put me in the holiday mood.  since they don’t have Thanksgiving over here, there’s no reason to wait until Black Friday to start lighting trees and marketing to Santa.

I have lots more to say about my adventures in Great Britain — check out my travel blog to read more.
